Dr. Laurence has over 30 years of combined experience in academia and in the private research and development business sector. In addition to a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry, he obtained his MS in Toxicology from the University of Kentucky and his Ph.D. in Comparative Biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley. Throughout his career, he has mentored many students and employees. He has a particularly effective style of teaching and enjoys working with graduate students at all phases of their studies from project inception and design to obtaining their degree.

Thesis and Dissertation Editing

Dr. Laurence offers comprehensive research guidance that includes content organization and assistance in the clear and focused presentation of data and study results. He is a writing and editing consultant for graduate students who are in the thesis or dissertation writing process.

Dr. Laurence enjoys working one-on-one with graduate students in the development and completion of their research programs and gets great satisfaction out of teaching them the necessary skills to succeed in their academic endeavors and to see them go on into successful careers.

Scientific Research Papers

Dr. Laurence helps science researchers prepare papers for publication in peer-reviewed journals and other scientific texts. He has served as an editorial reviewer for a number of scientific journals including Pesticide Science, Biochemical Pharmacology, Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology and Life Sciences and therefore has a thorough understanding of what it takes to prepare an acceptable manuscript for publication. He can also help you correspond with reviewers in the publication process.

Dr. Laurence co-founded a private contract research company and mentored many scientists during the 18 years the company operated. He helped steer a number of them into college and graduate school and advised them on an informal basis while they pursued various degrees in biology, chemistry and toxicology.
